Lady Berit
Alternate terms of Address: High Lady of Lasair, God-Queen of Caer

Physical Description:
A tall almost statuesque beauty, her skin is dark, yet she has hair of a flaming red, her eyes however are dark, near black. Despite her beauty there is a hardness to her regard which perhaps echoes her regal demeanour. She seems to age over the course of perhaps 60 years, after which she is seemingly rejuvenated in appearance (see below).

Background info:
God-Queen of Caer, a semi-divine figure within Lasair and something of an enigma. Clearly a gifted administrator and ruler, albeit verging on the ruthless, not to say dictatorial. As noted above, she seems to age and then become rejuvenated. Some subversive locals hold that this is a simply different God-Queen who replaces the aged and infirm predecessor, others of a more conformist belief judge that Berit periodically undergoes some sort of ritual with which she regains her youth.

Berit is also the chief priestess and oracle of the Temple of the Candle, which is to say the Church of Ba-Yhir, the official religion of Lasair.
