Secret Origin:
Gloria Sterling moved to Los Angeles right after high school, intent on becoming a star, just like so many young women before her. She was attractive, blonde, outgoing, and completely confident that it was only a matter of time before she'd be a much-celebrated household name. Then the realities of the industry set in, and she became just another wannabe in the crowd of anonymous auditioners, barely keeping herself afloat moving from one "temporary" part-time gig to another while waiting for her ever-elusive big break.
Then she received a windfall, and even she was shocked at the sheer cliche of it all: her rich uncle died, and she got a significant amount of money from the inheritance. At this point, she knew her dream of being a celebrity would never come true if she kept to her current path, so she decided to use the money to change that.
Actresses? Dancers? Models? SO last decade.
Superheroes, THAT's what the people love NOW.
After months of hiring private investigators to chase down rumors and leads, she found an organization that was willing to SELL her superpowers. They told her they considered it an investment: let them implant her with some experimental technology they'd like to see field tested, and in return she'd have an obligation to do what she wanted to do anyway, cultivating her fame and reputation and become a beloved household name.
Gloria didn't question the offer, why would she? She was about to have her dream.
Her benefactors convinced her the most appropriate place for her to make her Heroic debut was the rising technological mecca of Wolf's Hollow. And so Gloria intends to make her mark on the world as Star Power, the most dazzling heroine the world has ever seen. Soon, she'll be known everywhere she goes. Soon, everyone will admire her brilliant radiance. Soon she'll have legions of fans buying merchandise! She might even get movie deals!
