Francis Coleridge

Name: Francis Coleridge
Age: 28
Character Description:
A little out of step with current fashion, and less inclined to fuss over himself in the mirror, Francis often looks a little more unkempt than what would expect of a gentleman, though he is always clean. His hair is a light brown that holds a slight natural curl, a feature that seems to actively fight any attempt to make him appear orderly. He is of average height and build, has a naturally warm complexion and green eyes. He is generally quiet and keeps to himself, but behind the polite albeit aloof front is a man who is quite intense when he is interested is something. Usually his interests are not other people, however.
Skills/Accomplishments:
Decent rider & fencer
Avid reader, well versed in various topics including poetry, philosophy, literature... Linguist; speaks French, Greek and Italian well, decent standard of Latin, with smatterings of German (Viennese) and Portuguese.
Flaws/Shortcomings:
Easily distracted and a little forgetful.
Poor at feigning interested and therefore can be considered rude, particularly when he considered someone stupid or shallow.
Doesn't eagerly follow fashion trends.
Background:
Francis is the second son of the Earl of Albemarle, whose lands are in Sussex. He is well educated, considered, thoughtful but quite reserved, Francis is quite easily looked over at social occasions. He is quite different from his elder brother (Rufus), who is extravert, brash and loud. Instead Francis is more content to view the world from afar, observing but not partaking. He does have a soft spot for his younger sister (Amelia) who happens to convince him to involve himself more (mostly in order to chaperone her, of course), but without her he would be far more recluse.
As he is not an heir he has pressure to make his own path in the world. He took an extended Grand Tour to Italy, Greece, France, Portugal and Vienna, upon returning home he studied at St. John’s College at Oxford. Has pressure from his family to take up the cloth but he is far more interested in training as a physician, but this is seen as a poor choice for a man of his supposed station. Although he doesn't feel becoming a clergyman would fit him, he foresees this might be an inevitable path. He is currently at a crossroads in his life and isn't quite sure where to go and is still supported by this father.
