Sven Glanz's upbringing on the treacherous world of Insec molded him into a survivor. Despite the precarious environment, his keen attention to detail kept him alive. He observed the revolving door of military personnel arriving for extreme environment training, leaving with limited insight into the harsh conditions. Determined to escape, Sven aspired to join the Navy once he reached eligibility. He honed his skills while staying under the radar.

Rejected by the Navy, he did a stretch as an Agent, some University, then drafted to the Scouts before finally settling into a Merchant Marine career. He mustered out as 3rd officer when he decided that the accumulated benefits were enough to strike out on his own.
