Wade Wilder grew up on one of the many planetoids in the Antares (Antares Sector) asteroid belt, a typically hostile, lethal environment. It was a tough upbringing, a tough life under an ex-army father and a hospital kitchen worker mother. It did teach you how to survive though - mostly just by keeping your head down, and never doing anything to attract attention or stand out from the crowd: there were plenty of people (/bullies, thugs, gangs, guards) who would strike you down for any reason at all. In young Wade it also instilled a burgeoning desire to leave and never return. One day he left home, turned up at the Imperial Scout Base in the system, and never looked back.

Wade is around six foot tall, well built and easy on the eyes, with fair hair and grey eyes and around two weeks' worth of stubble. He is cool-headed, practical and patient, with a good sense of humour, a loyal friend and trusty companion. There's got to be much more to him than that, of course.
