Aarifa Akila is a young girl with long dark hair and a deeply bronzed skin, she is far from the most physically fit student in her age group, but at the same time is not fat.  Her brilliant green eyes come from her mother who is of Celtic descent, while her dark hair originates with her father who comes from a long line of Egyptian Magi.  She requires corrective glasses because she is nearsighted.  She is often dressed in concealing clothing, that is common in her homeland of Egypt.

She is often found in the library or some abandoned classroom reading or writing.  Although rarely being the one to start a rumor her silent and short stature means she's likely overheard most of the rumors merely because she's gone unnoticed while others ramble on about the stories of the day.

Back Story: Aarifa is the daughter of the Egyptian ambassador to the British Wizarding Ministry.  As such she's spent most of her life either in London or Cairo.  Leading to an odd mixture of cultures, She is fluent in both English and Arabic with a vague understanding of some ancient Egyptian mixed in.

She was born as a result of an affair between her father and a muggle-born attendant at the ministry.  Although born out of wedlock, something she'll never admit to, she has been fully embraced by her father since she is his only child so far. One thing few expect from her is that she is quite the accomplished chef for an eleven year old, a skill that likely will go on the aide her during her potions class.
