There are no natives of the Kasirutan Archipelago.

Or rather, there are natives but no indigenes.  The islands themselves were uplifted for use as weapon platforms late in the Theomachry.  When the world shattered, they were populated by sorcerer-technicians from the south, fleeing their burning gods.  Centuries later, Din explorers came down from the steppes, established trade routes, and settled in to join them.  The rest, history records.

She definitely looks native, though.

Gaia's nose is short and broad, with little bridge to speak of, her eyes deep-set behind even broader cheeks and heavy lids.  Next to her umber skin tones, her teeth are a dazzling white, and a broad enough smile will sometimes show the back ones for unduly sharp.  She is short and slender, closer to the Din frame, but she moves when calm as though carrying more inertia than her lithe build should.  And all of this is to sidestep the hair, really, but that'll be the first thing anyone sees.  It's so gold it gleams in the sun.  She could use it for signaling at sea.  Just like her eyes.  But everybody's a bit weird in the Archipelago.
