Sir Gerod Angrave

Standing at just shy of six feet tall Sir Gerod Angrave has skin tanned from work and training outdoors. His long dark hair is chronically unkempt and sometimes gets in his way when he exerts himself. Gentle brown eyes gaze ahead at the horizon with hope and anticipation as his lips curl into a slight smile at something only he can see.

Sitting astride his chestnut stallion he is clad in old, often repaired, chain mail armor worn atop a thick padded gambeson of a light brown color. Over the mail he is clad in a green surcoat that displays his coat of arms. A golden stag rampant on a cream field. The same sigil is shown upon the surface of the kite shield which hangs from the pommel of his saddle. Girded on his belt is a steel-hilted sword on his left hip with a matching dagger on his right hip. A sturdy lance is gripped in his right hand with the butt resting in a leather cup next to his right stirrup. Just beneath the head of the lance there flies a green pennant. The cloak around his shoulders is the same shade of green and flows behind him in the wind. His left arm cradles a sturdy steel helm with a long green plume made from horse’s hair.

Sir Gerod was born to a poor humble landed Knight in the northern reaches of Arthur’s realm. Sir Aedric Angrave taught his only son the ways of being a Knight. Yet, he was unable to teach the lad the finer points of chivalry and courtesy. What little Sir Gerod does know in those areas is due to the songs and poems he has heard about Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. It is these tools of the Bard’s trade that inspire him to seek out Camelot. Following those tales he accepted his father’s old armor and sword when he earned his knighthood and almost instantly set out for Camelot. He dreams of proving himself a worthy Knight, meeting a beautiful lady, and living a life that will make his poor father proud of him and allow Sir Gerod to give his family a better life.

He journeys towards Camelot accompanied by a capable young Bard named Torah. The songs she has shared that describe Camelot have played no small part in inspiring him to take this path. However, it is her friendship, skill, and keen mind that he values the most.
