Who were you before? | Skye Campbell, an ordinary enough British teen from a fairly well-to-do family. Someone fairly popular and successful but living under the weight of parental expectations, using sport and shallow friendships as an escape from the walls she felt boxing her in and pushing her towards a future that weighed heavy on her shoulders. |
When did you change? What caused it? | Her transformation was sheer accident and utterly unpredictable. Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time during an attack by the supervillain Queen Bee, Skye was stung by one of the villains bespoke GM wasps. Rather than merely being temporarily incapacitated, as was the villains intent, Skye suffered a severe reaction that put her in a coma and left her hospitalised for some weeks as she underwent significant physical changes. |
Who, outside of the team, is helping you understand your new body? | Skye has entered into a somewhat reluctant arrangement with Queen Bee (Beatrice Parker), the woman (unintentionally) responsible for her transformation. While understandably very wary, Skye eventually found herself desperate enough that she was willing to follow up on the villains sympathy and regret expressed during her hospitalisation and reach out. Things have been very cagey, but over time theyve developed a slightly awkward bond and done some very preliminary independent research into Skyes genetics with the tech and expertise that only an insect-obsessed supervillain can offer. |
Why dont you just try to hide yourself away? | As much as its just a matter of human necessity, no small part of Skyes drive to carve a way back into the world stems from anger and frustration at the sense of feeling abandoned, forgotten or hidden away as a source of shame and embarrassment. Its not that she doesnt understand at least a little why her parents might want her out of the spotlight, but she simply can't accept that is to be her future. Maybe going outside is going to suck and its going to be impossible to do even the most basic normal things without feeling eyes on her back, but she at least wants to do those most basic normal things. She might as well have not woken up from that coma if she was just going to sit in the dark all day. |
Why do you care about the team? | To Skye the team is the closest thing she has to a friend group
only shes not really sure if either side actually views the other as a friend. Theres a certain sense of obligation at play here. She recognises them as people who (willingly or otherwise) suffer and will work with her, and they dont seem to openly despise her not that she isnt still looking for it. Theyre better than anything else she has going, and as limp an endorsement as that might be its still enough to make them something worth fighting for and desperately holding onto. |
When our team first came together... | We drew attention and ire from plenty during the fight. One important person in particular now hates and fears us. Who is it? |
