Background
Far to the East of Faerûn, even farther than the lands of Kara-Tur and the country of Shou, lies the island nations of Wa and Kozakura.
These are lands of warring clans and mighty soldier-royalty called samurai. While most citizens of these islands are aware of lands outside theirs, they are all incredibly isolationist and xenophobic. By order of their god-like Emperor they refuse nearly all connections with the world beyond their borders.

But, the god-like Emperor is not unwise or without cunning. He knows that there IS a large outside world. And that outside world has all manner of outside threats to his Empire. And so, he has specially groomed agents that he sends off into the world at large - to gather information, observe customs and cultures ... and to eliminate threats.

The Senken no mei no Shinden sits on the far eastern shores of Kozakura, and they are the Emperor's eyes, ears, and when necessary, his fists. A mixed collective of races, the monastic order trains a variety of specialists to fulfill multiple rolls in the outside world.

Sakamoto Satoru, a young hin, is one such traveller. He is a skilled warrior, and his diminutive size allows him to easily be overlooked as he
makes his observations of the world around him.
