BACKSTORY
How did you first meet your mentor?
Flash, Mr. Thompson, whatever, he was my gym teacher. It was weird, he actually seemed to care when I skipped class. Not in a yelling at me and telling me what to do kinda way, but, like, he asked me about it. He wasnt very careful with his secret identity, and I ended up being the only person who saw him use crazy stretchy black goo powers one time after class. I figured out the guy was Venom and kept a closer eye on him.
When and why did you choose to train with them?
A crime boss put a bounty on Venoms head. A supervillain knew who Venom was, and came after me and my dad to bait Flash. Venom showed up. It was too late for dad, but he encased me in a part of his symbiote to save me from poison gas. It bonded to me instead of just acting as a shield, and now I have my own symbiote. Its young and dangerous and we mess with each others heads. You know when you get something complicated, and cant turn it off, and you just need to know how to control it to make things easier? Yeah, I needed Flash. Hes been this and can keep me from losing my mind.
Why did they agree to train you?
Because hes a decent guy. His battles got my dad killed and me with a vicious monster connected to me, so he decided I was his responsibility. Also because I nearly killed Jack OLantern during the fight, and Flash wants to keep me from doing the killing thing. Unfair, but I guess I get it.
Who else, outside of the team, knows about your training?
My Aunt Sarah. She doesnt like it, but she knows that I cant just get rid of the symbiote and learning how to live with it is better than letting it get me killed. Jack OLantern saw it happen, so he knows. Ill bet he reported to that crime boss, Lord Ogre, too.
Why do you care about the team?
Were all freaks. Were weirdos. Were just better than other people, and that means were constantly targets for the worst possible things, and that we cant let ourselves get too close to them because theyll be in danger and itll be our fault. What? Why are you asking about Flash again? This has nothing to do with him, I was just saying.
