Rayek grew up orphaned on the streets of Port Loren. His father was given to drunken fits and was bad with money.  He ended up crossing a loan shark who murdered his wife to prove a point. In a rage of passion, fueled by alcohol, Rayek's father met his end at the hands of the loan shark's goons, leaving Rayek to fend for himself.  Learning how to fight just arose out of necessity (Martial Arts), and after a few high-temperature mistakes while squatting in warehouses, he got to know his way around chemicals, electronics, and architectural flaws (Demolitions).

He managed to apprentice himself to a Prt Loren construction company that found out he’s good at setting explosives (Ok. He’s not very good, but he's good enough to be dangerous...at least to himself). They quickly put him to work setting demo charges to clear construction sites. They tell him where to put the T-19, and he runs, sets it up, and clears out before the boom.  So far, he still has all of his limbs. With any luck, he’ll be able to retire before he kills himself.
