Bastion Rail

It's rough...but here's the general idea....

Born and raised on the planet Ossus, Bastion soon showed himself to have a close affinity to the force. His father was a shuttle pilot and threw his work came into contact with a large number of people. One of his passengers was an old lady named Jan d'Ren. She was a practitioner of the force and through conversation with Heffren's father became intrigued by the stories of his young son.

She came for a visit one day and quickly came to see the boys potential. Bastian's father was concerned that the Jedi or the Sith would come to know of his son's gift and he didn't want to see him become a pawn for either. Jan d'Ren promised she would prevent that but he would need to move with her to the monastery deep in the marshlands. There he would be trained in the force separate from the indoctrinations of either faction.

They left together that very night and Bastion hasn't seen his father since that day. He grew up in isolation and with the help of Jan d' Ren and the other teachers he has learned to control the force and use it primarily as a help for others. He was always taught that the force is much more that a weapon to be used to defeat your foes, it's a soothing balm to help those that need it.

But alas it can indeed be used for violence and this fact wasn't lost on the sages of the Monastery. In stark contrast to both the Sith and the Jedi they avoided the lightsaber at all costs instead training in the ways of the saberwhip, a small, light and concealable weapon. In time Bastion approached equality with his teachers both with his use of the saberwhip and his knowledge of the force. Following Jan d'Ren's death he has decided to travel onward.

He makes his way to Coruscant to see what he can learn there. On his way his naivety and lack of knowledge of the working in the real world showed itself. He was swindled out of good credits being promised passage to his first destination, Lorrad. He finds himself on The Berg instead not entirely sure what his next move is going to be. Certainly the force will provide a way.
