Everard of Mered

A genial, portly man in his latc 40s, Everard is
clanhead of the Mered clan, the wealthiest of serf
families in Laban. He has also served as the village
reeve for the past fifteen years, and is therefore the
spokesman for all serf families to Sir Kathel. Election of
a village reeve is made by all serf families, but must be
confirmed by the lord.

Everard knows every furrow, hedge, and tree on
the fief, exaclly how long it takes to do every job, who
the shirkers are, and how much each acre of land
should produce.
