Katya grew up farming with her parents on their family farm in Yakutsk. Katya's father was enlisted to fight in the Winter War, leaving her and her mother to take over the farm. Katya's father was sent back home missing both his left arm and leg; no longer able to fight. Seeing her wounded father unable to fight in the war, Katya wanted to take his place, make him proud, and do her best to protect their home and her country.

Katya is a pretty young woman who is quiet and sometimes shy. She is not the type to speak first but will slowly become open the more she is spoken too.
