Captain Comet

Kit Thorne is a billionaire adventurer who privately funded a scientific mission to rendezvous with a long-period comet passing relatively close to Earth. After encountering a fluke radiation storm, the spacecraft is bombarded by unknown energies. Their systems overloaded, the crew desperately fights to restore power before they drift too far off-course. Unable to reach the crew module's shielded section, Kit is exposed to forces beyond human comprehension. The tremendous energies coursing through her body overwhelm her but, rather than causing her death, she awakes to find herself forever transformed!
