Appearing old beyond his years, Professor Anthony Wells was once a distinguished academic of note at Columbia, an early fixture in the Anthropology department. Of late, his prestige has diminished some among rumors that he's getting to be a bit eccentric. The subjects of his inquiries have been deemed too experimental and broaching the boundaries of reason. Out of respect for his accomplishments and contributions to the discipline, he still has a position, but has been relegated to teaching an intro class to freshmen, which is in many case his worst nightmare.

He still has a keen mind and senses and a vast body of knowledge, though his constitution appears to be rather weak and frail as it always has, something he attributes (contrary to the theories of any physician) to the devastation brought on by a particularly bad case of a peanut allergy as a child. To this day, he swears off the stuff entirely.
