Jannaeus’ plain black garments match his temperament; dour, spartan, and solemn.  The coldly logical man, bereft of passion and empathy, is laconic to the point of rudeness, partly due to the fact that he has a tendency to avoid stating what he considers to be the patently obvious, but mostly stemming from a genuine distaste of idle conversation.
