Bea Monroe

Name: Bea Monroe
Age: 28
Occupation: Newish Owner, Manager, and Barrista of Grinders Cafe
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

Personality: There's constant energy that surrounds Bea that some may deem infectious and others may see as uneasy. She seems to be continuously in motion, though whether that's her or the coffee running through her veins is anyone's guess. To some she may seem like she's married to her work, the shop being her baby, but in reality, she can relax quite easily when she chooses.

Bea loves a good story and is happy to engage most of her patrons in a conversation, even if it's a simple one about their day. She's polite and trusts people, probably more than she should but it hasn't gotten her into too much trouble to date.

Interests/Hobbies: Usually on her day off she can be found curled up with a mug of coffee or tea and reading a good book. Usually, something within the fantasy or humor genre to "Keep things light" as she'd say. When the mood strikes she also occasionally still picks up a paintbrush or charcoal, though it's not as frequent as it was, an Apple Pencil and iPad taking their places.

She also tries to cook. Baking is her stronger skill but she can make some decent entrees if given the time to both prepare and focus.

Appearance: Bea stands at roughly 5'5" tall and is of an average build with a hint of muscle, most likely more from heavy lifting and manual labor than an exercise routine. Her brown hair falls around her shoulders but is usually tied back at least half up in a bun. Her eyes, also brown, have been described as vibrant or kind and are only occasionally hidden by glasses.

Most of the time her style is as easygoing as her personality, usually choosing jeans, a pair of sneakers, and a t-shirt over the tailored suits and skirts she sees come in and out of her shop day in and day out. Still, when the occasion calls for it she can clean up nicely.

History: Bea grew up in a loving home in Virginia with her parents and 3 brothers. It was a typical upbringing with friends, school, and a bevy of activities and clubs. She did well and ended up at a good college where she majored in fine art with a minor in art history.

Upon graduation, she struggled to find what she wanted to do. Having worked in the service industry during her schooling, she took a job at a local coffee place to pass the time while she looked for a job. After a while, she found that she enjoyed working at the shop, the customers, and relationships she managed to form something she enjoyed. When the owners left, they offered her the opportunity to take it over, and the rest was history. The hours, while a bit long, still gave her time to herself.

The shop has become more like a second home to her, taking it upon herself to come up with new drinks, find better products, or new and popular tech.

She smiled from where she was under the sink, trying to see where the issue with the leak was while also listening to Jack, a regular of hers that always loved to talk and was, at the moment, trying to give her some guidance.

"Well, I dunno. It seems like, well..." she winced, trying to ascertain the start of the steady drip with the use of her cell phone's flashlight. "Maybe coming from above the - well no because it's wet there too..."

"Lucky this hit ya closer to closing time," he said with a chuckle, as he leaned over the counter. "Ya know, I have a buddy a' mine that could probably come out sometime in the next day or two and help ya out. He's a good guy, wouldn't screw ya on the cost."

"Oh, that'd be so fantastic Jack. I'd really appreciate it," she said coming up from under the counter, "I think the bucket should handle the worst of it for now..." she added, a finger coming to her lips and shushing him conspiratorially.
