Veronique Devereux

Name: Veronique Devereux (real name: Veronica Igwe)
Age: 41

Occupation: Actress and occasionally a singer.

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, but leaning more towards heterosexuality

Kinks/Style: Veronique finds it difficult to relax in the bedroom lately. It requires a lot from her to truly give in and enjoy her partner's presence between the sheets. True emotional connection is the key to get the juices flowing.

Personality:
Veronique's private identity is probably the furthest thing from the public persona that her pr team has cultivated oh so carefully. Known for embodying the morally ambiguous, femme fatale roles, Veronique has been a fixture in the American cinema and theatre for over two decades now and is highly respected among her peers for her dedication and willingness to commit both physically and mentally to her roles. The velvet-voiced Siren, as she was nicknamed frequently by the tabloids, has been followed by the rumors of her diva-like behavior ever since the beginning of her career, causing her to lead a reclusive life outside of the public eye, choosing to rarely communicate with the press, unless strictly necessary. This unwillingness to freely engage with the media has built up an air of mystery about her, and has, unfortunately for Veronique, just aroused the public's hunger for dirty speculation even more, causing her to develop a mild case of Paranoia, held under control with the help of her psychiatrist, and prescription medicine. These prima-donna antics that have followed Veronique, probably originate from her clumsy way of communicating and heightened emotional sensitivity.

After the birth of her daughter, Willow, five years ago, Veronique has become notably mellower and less self centered. The importance of caring after a being that she has brought into this world has shifted Veronique's perspective and has along with her dedication to her marriage to the celebrated film director David Zimmermann, led her to put her career on the back burner, accepting only jobs in the vicinity of the New York area, as to not separate from her little princess. But now, in the midst of a nasty divorce and custody battle, Veronique has a new fire, burning ever so strongly inside of her, vengeful and ready to take claim of what is rightfully hers.

Interests/Hobbies:
Veronique uses most of the free time that her busy schedule permits her, to indulge in art of both visual and auditory nature. She enjoys going to cinemas, theatre and visiting art galleries to get inspired and reinvigorate her spirit. R&B, Jazz and Soul are the music genres Veronique instinctively gravitates to, and if there is an intriguing live concert in the city, she will give her all to find the best seats in the house. Veronique also possesses an enviable collection of archival sartorial pieces, which includes some of the costumes from films and plays she starred in, obtained through a carefully negotiated contractual clause. Recently, amidst all of the chaotic events, Veronique has developed an interest in pottery, an activity which has proved to be incredibly soothing.

Appearance:
Veronique's striking beauty, a mixture of her parents' features, has opened many doors for her both in her professional and private life. Her piercing, dark brown eyes are the most impactful and probably the facial feature one would notice sitting across from her. Quickly thereafter, her expressive luscious lips combined with her velvety sensual voice would warm up even the iciest of people. Tall and slender, Veronique exercises frequently and has a lean, thin physique and at 5'11" leaves an impression wherever she goes. Veronique most frequently has her raven colored hair wavy, shiny, free flowing, reaching the lower part of her back, but is no stranger to experimenting with different textures and colors.

Wearing the latest designs, Veronique finds the style of Sade and Faye Dunaway in Eyes of Laura Mars inspiring, and tries to model her own after them. Staring in ad campaigns, in certain periods she would be contractually obligated to wear certain pieces.

History:
Born to Nigella and Adam Igwe in Brooklyn in 1981 Veronique never dreamt of becoming a celebrity, much less an actress when she grew up. Being an only child brought with it a never-ending amount of attention, which started vanning upon the dissolution of her parents' marriage. The disruptive family dynamics has unfortunately for Veronique proved to be one of the most impactful formative influences of her childhood, and she was vowed to herself not to repeat the same mistakes her parents ended up making, and let her child go through once she becomes a mother. Her father's alcoholism and absence proved to be insufferable to the rest of his family, and has led him to an early death in a traffic accident, leaving Veronique and her mother alone, to fend for themselves, an event that she has, oh so frequently, rehashed with her psychiatrist.

Thirty five years later, after three years of what was being considered an aspirational marriage by the wider public, the history started repeating to Veronique. Her husband's struggles with substance abuse, and his promiscuousness has turned Veronique's life upside down, and have instilled in her the sense of uncertainty that David can be a responsible guardian to their child.
