*Physical Description: Farouk was a mutt but the dominate factor was his Arabic heritage which he got from his mom's side of the family. The most striking thing about him was his eyes, hetrochromia(blue and hazel) played a big roll in his life. He stood just shy of 6'1", on the athletic side of well muscled. His dark hair was buzzed on the sides and gelled at the top and he had a somewhat badass type of shaped 5 o'clock shadow going on with his beard and mustache and his skin was on the honeyed side of tan. When not on duty and in uniform, he tended to wear long sleeved, loose shirts, well worn jeans and a pair of shit kicker cowboy boots well worn. On the other side, when camping, hiking or fishing, dependent on the weather, he would wear flannel long sleeve shirts, a worn cowboy hat, sweat stained long the rim, and a very expensive pair of hiking boots that were more military in style.

*Character History
Interests/Hobbies: Hiking, swimming, running, and strength training. He loves legends and myths, has a collection of old books relating to mythology and legends(Greek, Native American, New England, his home state NC). This is to say he is a avid reader of anything fantasy or sci-fi related too. Cooking, which includes purely southern food and even regional from his mother's side. So it wouldn't be too odd to find fattoush next to corn bread and shredded pork.

Likes: He likes any and every book relating to legends and myths. He also loves solving puzzles, whether it be the pieces kind or crimes. He adores the outdoors, fishing and camping, because there is freedom in walking away from it all to have quiet time and recharge.

Dislikes: His high moral compass makes it so that anyone that doesn't follow the letter of the law is not to be trusted. Those that bully and racist assholes(they seem to go hand in hand sometimes). He's highly allergic to blueberries so he hates them with a passion that one normally would not see in him.

Background: Ironically Farouk grew up in the South in a small town along 70 in North Carolina. He has the accent to prove it to which sometimes gets him rather strange looks. He's never quite been able to get rid of it and to this day it still has more than a hint in his speech.

He was born to a English/Saudi mother and a German/Cherokee father which made the household a rather strange mix of values and ideals. He went to Mosque with his mother and even Church with his father before eventually deciding that neither were for him. For him, he followed his dream of criminal justice, getting an AAS in that at the local level and then moving half way across the state to Raleigh to pursue his Bachelors at NC State.

His first job was patrol officer beat. It was from there that he moved up to a Detective, investigation the murder beat. Then he was dragged in and ear marked for the SEU. There he cut his teeth on internal affairs and other types of investigations, undercover and high profile.

He's moved on because he was forced to, finding a job that fits him. Apparently Farouk pissed someone high up and most likely because they were not follow the law and to shut the man up, the forced him to a place where he couldn't do more damage. As highly decorated as he was, he couldn't be permanently taken out of the picture. Farouk doesn't talk about that at all, preferring to let it stand as a testament to his high moral values.

He is very picky whom he dates or even plays with if it comes to that. And that moves into his personal life because he's seen how his parents were, two unlikely people that loved each other. He knows that he might never find that 'perfect' partner like his parents did but he's ok with that.

He's been at his current job as with the Sheriff's office for a year now so he's met some of the power in the county. Lexi showed him around when he first came to the job and he has met some others in the EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement community and others like Robert Eriksen. He's never been one to put someone down because of something they couldn't help. And for all he's the local law, he's a good guy that would help anyone in need.
