Nash was born on the reservation to Wynona and John Nash.  He had two older siblings, a sister and a brother, and a younger sister.  He had a pretty average Coquille life until one full moon when he was 12.  He was out night fishing when a wolf that has lost control attacked him and bit his shoulder.  The next full moon he changed but luckily he didn't hurt anyone, just attacked some livestock.

His parents thought that he had become a Wendigo, a human possessed by an evil spirit of cannibalism or greed.  Thinking he'd been cursed by whiteman's unnatural magic, they disowned him and his tribe ostracized him.  Finding himself homeless and on the streets at 12, he used the skills he grew up learning to survive and eventually found his way into the Bend pack.

Once he had graduated high school and was old enough to be on his own, he worked his way through trade school and started working construction on any jobs that he could get.

On one of the jobs he met a cougar named Maggie and it was love at first sight.  He was going to approach her at the end of the day with a cheesy pickup line but it was her that walked up to him and write her number on his hand.  He called her for a date and within a year they were engaged.
