Jaffa Redspot, a Kobold and Nice Kid, tries her best to be a sweet and friendly kid, having named herself after a particularly tasty treat that she often sees on display at the local baker, a Jaffa Cake.

But others, particularly the older kids, can't seem to see Jaffa as anything other than the spitfire she was a few years back. Jaffa's terribly embarrassed about those times and how she picked fights with other orphans. She's been trying to put it all behind her ever since she really hurt another kid about two years ago. She felt terrible about it and desperately wished for some way to heal the other kid (even though he'd called her sharp teeth scary and her green scales ugly). But even though she'd actually somehow made him feel better (after a few attempts), everyone still calls her "Redspot." She doesn't like the name, but everyone's using it, so she's stuck with it for now.

Still, at least she's gotten a lot better at helping people feel better about stuff, though she doesn't fully understand how she's able to do that.
