Beargus Shieldwall, Hylar Hoplite Officer

Beargus is an officer of Thorbardin's elite hoplite guard. Life in the shield wall can be harsh, and Beargus has the scars to prove it. His right eye and cheek clearly show the dangers of a life dedicating to putting yourself in harm's way for the good of the team. A silver-white tattoo on his forehead marks his accomplishments as an officer and the rank that has granted him in society as well as the military itself.

Beargus often wears half-plate armor, and wields a spear alongside his tower shield. Occasionally, he trades the defense of the shield for a two-handed glaive when the added reach is a more beneficial form of defense than a shield. Beargus generally wears a hooded cloak with the emblem of Thorbarden on the breast, which seems to keep itself clean against all odds.
