Background: Rowene was born in the forests of Eastern Jolant, as a bear. When she was a child - around ten in human years - a witch practicing her magic turned Rowene into a bear. Rowene found it awkward at first, but soon grew used to it - although as a result of the spell, she lost her voice. Four years before the present day, she went looking for the witch and asked her to give her back her voice. The witch did so, but now every step Rowene takes is like she is stepping on glass shards.
