Voltampier is a Dragonkin, more dragon-like than humanoid with a serpentine body that widens only slightly at his shoulders and hips. When standing upright with his head just above his shoulders he is just shy of eight feet tall, but usually he is on all fours, his shoulders around four feet off the ground on almost human like arms ending in eagle like talons and his three foot neck extending his foot long head in front of him. His rear haunches are a foot lower than his shoulders as his rear legs are doglegged, ending in webbed feet. Stretched out he measures over 12 foot tip to tail but he is rarely fully extended except in flight, usually taking up 8-9 feet in the horizontal.
He wears no clothing and carries no equipment, his scales, claws and maw being all he needs. He has bat-like wings and a modest crest along his back and an isocercal tail only slightly shorter than his neck. Discrete, overlapping kite shaped scales run down his body, the largest the size of saucers, decreasing to coin sized on his head and claws and pinhead sized on the fabric of his wings. His scales are silvery metallic with a raised central ridge ending in a sharp point. They have a heat-blued appearance more pronounced on the edges, and several are ink embossed with blue geometric tracery running down the neck and torso in some sort of tribal markings. His dagger sized claws are jet black and slightly curved.
His head is long and tapered the length of his narrow snout to his ball shaped nostrals, his electric blue eyes set wide under a crainial ridge with two jet black forward swept curved horns jutting from the back of the crainal ridge. His long jaw, capable of opening extremely wide, is full of crocodilian teeth visible even when the mouth is closed, with a pair of protruding upper canines nearly a foot long.
Despite the ridgidity of the scales his body is fluid and flexible and his emotions undisguised in his posture and bearing.
