She wears her hair short, usually in a pixie cut, or choppy bob, currently dyed in a brilliant Auburn hue. Katya frequently incorporates Army surplus into her wardrobe. Kat Kiyama is a former Stuntwoman. When a fall working on a movie shoot left her paralyzed, her wealthy father made a deal-with-a-literal Devil. The gift; give a local Camarilla Politician access to a network of carriers that specialized in human transport. The boon; the Politician would share his blood, and grant Jin Kayama's daughter a functional spine. Everyone's various capsized ships would be righted. Unsurprisingly, years of indentured vampiric servitude followed. Eventually Katya ground out a name for herself, her reputation tough but fair, working up from a Gang Enforcer to a Sheriff's Deputy's Deputy. Finally, she had achieved a form of undead legitimacy. And there she stayed. Promotions were slow to come. LA had too damn many vampires, and Brujah weren't entirely trusted in positions of leadership. Where some people might have felt anger or resentment, Kat felt powerful. Invincible. Part of a close knit society. She was part of something, and they were going to make waves. They were going to carve out a new place in the Camarilla. Eventually. She was setting her sights on eventually making Sheriff, at the very least. When her friend Valentina De Leon clued her in about a new position opening up in nearby San Francisco, she leapt at the chance to make a big splash in a smaller pond. |
