Aura was born to the noble house of Gireaux thirty three years ago. She was the seventh of seven children which coincidentally made her seventh in line to the throne. While her parent's kingdom was not the most prosperous, they had no great mines other than iron and coal, their fields bore fruit but were not abundant, and their craftsmen were competent but not sought after. While her brothers and sisters were relatively close in age, Aura was born nearly a decade after the others. While the town had some children her own age, that was a distance away from the keep she called her own. To find companionship, she invented an imaginary friend, an invisible platypus that she named Stuart.

As she grew and beyond the time when such fantasy falls away Stuart remained her constant companion. By the time she reached her tenth year, it was clear that Aura was different from her siblings. She knew things that she should not know. She had heard secrets that were only whispered behind closed doors, and casually mentioned them as someone might state that it was going to rain. People began to talk and grew wary of the girl, further isolating her. While her father and mother spoke of marriage, she spoke of sights that she wanted to see. Once she and Stuart agreed that she was ready, she kissed her family goodbye and set off on an adventure.

Early on, she bounced from group to group. She remained a bit eccentric and her habit of speaking directly into people's minds is a tough thing to get used to. Additionally, each troupe would have their own goal and motivation. Some would want to fight off an invasion of gnolls to save a village, some would want to rid an ancient forest of an infestation of extraplanar ant-men, others wanted to take a job exploring the sewers of a metropolis hoping to purge it of an assassin's guild. While she was happy to help out, she rarely stuck around with groups looking to settle down for long. She wanted to dip her feet into a tropical ocean, look down upon the world from the peak of a mountain, and simply to experience the beauty of the world. Once the pressing issues passed she was able to spend time doing the things she wanted to do.
