Edweard is the younger brother of Jaak Kothar. Like Jaak, Edweard was an explorer, coming to Tukoa for an opportunity for riches. When his brother disappeared, Edweard was defeated and turned to the bottle, but he managed to pull himself out of depression far enough to become a competent member of the governing council. He no longer explores actively (not even the simple expeditions), but knows those who do and is (when sober) an apt spokesman for them.
