Felix Wilde

Name: Felix Wilde
Age:  40
Theme Song:  Blood in the Water
Position in Game: Second in Command of the Resistance
Character Visual: Joseph Morgan
History: Unlike Monica Porter, Felix did not grow up running through the Outlands. He grew up in the slums of Valport, the part the Illustrians pretend doesn’t exist. The first few years of his life were spent hungry – the hollow pit in his stomach was a constant companion. His mother and father did everything they could to support their family of six, but there was never enough – money, food, electricity.

As the youngest of the four children, Felix had a front-row seat to everything Valport truly has to offer those less fortunate. His eldest brother passed away young from a medical condition they could not afford to treat, and the other two were massacred front and center for the world to see during the Trials.

His mother fell into a depression. His father was drinking himself to death. He had few options: join the Vanguard, work himself to death, or apply for the Trials. None of it fit the dreams he had dared to dream as a child. One where he became something more than the few options they were allotted. One where he didn’t die to protect a country he didn’t support or for the amusement of the Illustrian class.

He had heard rumors about a small group that had escaped. Rumor was that they lived beyond the walls. A small community that didn’t have Trials or Classes or people that used them for their gain. He doubted it was true, but he knew dying in the wilderness beyond the walls of Valport was better than dying for the upper classes’ amusement.

Back then, getting out was more manageable. There was not as many Vanguard patrolling the walls. There was no barbed wire on top or an electric current running through it. The Resistance wasn’t appealing, and neither was leaving ‘paradise.’ He managed to get out and away, but it wasn’t that easy to find the rumored group. It took him almost six months of wandering the wilderness and almost dying of starvation before he was finally found… by one Monica Porter during her childhood game in the trees. She brought him back to the commune.

Once Felix was nursed back to health, he quickly integrated himself in the community. He helped where he could. He was adopted by an older couple that never had the opportunity to have children of their own, but he was more or less the community’s kid. He often went from house to house, sleeping where he could, eating where he could, and helping.

Joseph Porter, Monica’s father, saw potential in the young man, and as Felix aged and their community grew, Felix started going to meetings with Joseph and other leaders. Everyone thought that Joseph Porter was grooming him to become the next leader of the resistance, but after Joseph’s death, Monica stepped into the role. She was not who the people wanted, and they are wary of her hot-headedness, but out of respect for Joseph they have decided to give her a chance.

Felix remains by Monica’s side as second in command and offers her his support but he is aware of the quiet whispers going through their ranks, whispers that the people want him to lead instead of Monica.
