Rozzick Cheshire

Rozzick Cheshire, the former half-elf, now half-umbral dragon.

What Rozzick looks like now.

Rozzick stands at an impressive seven feet tall, has obsidian scaled skin, and a very muscular physique. Especially for someone of his advanced age. Granted, his age is difficult to determine due to his draconic features. He is clad in a suit of full-plate adamantium armor, but he is able to make full use of his leathery wings. Around his head orbit five Ioun Stone prisms. Two green, two rose, and one orange. Upon his head rests an intricate gold headband decorated with several small blue and deep purple gemstones. But the headband is barely visible beneath the helm he wears. The helm is covered with rune-carved plates of ivory, and it has two wicked tusks that curve down on either side of his jaws.

Around his neck is collar made of teeth collected from dozens of different animals. Shark, hippo, tyrannosaurus, wolf, and even cow. Additionally, there is a stubby black cloak that barely makes it to his shoulder blades, and a loosely knitted robe of hempen rope and twine. Over one shoulder across his chest hangs a small pouch, which seems to be present no matter which form Rozzick takes.

On his hands, Rozzick sometimes wears the adamantine gauntlets that are part of his full-plate suit, but most often he does not so that he might have access to his draconic claws. Upon one thumb he wears an amber band the color of honey, upon the other thumb he wears a silver band covered in the fine etchings of four distinct alphabets. Upon his left forearm is a simple non-magical buckler of masterwork quality.

Around Rozzick's waist is a thick leather belt with a large bronze belt buckle depicting a mountain. Attached to the belt are three identical crystalline magical rods, ready for use, as well as a Traveler's Any-tool. There is a small component pouch as well, which looks nearly unused. Across his back is a backpack full of supplies, and a long adamantine clawed hammer called a Lucerne Hammer. Upon his feet are a pair of midnight blue thick-soled boots that add to Rozzick's already impressive height.

Rozzick's Demiplane

Location: Astral Plane
Size: 460 10 ft cubes

-Structure - Formal areas overlooking greenhouse-like pathways.
-Enhanced Magic - All (+2 CL to all spells)
-Morphic
-Bountiful (no animals except the lizards added for Dainty to hunt).
-Seasonal - mild day/night cycle, but season is always "early summer"
-Shape - its main paths loop back on themselves at the demiplane edges.

On the rare occasion Rozzick first brings a new guest to his demiplane, which he sometimes refers to as "The Oasis," they usually appear next to an artistic fountain. The fountain is about 10 feet across and depicts himself, Dainty, and Aria battling a great kraken-like beast. Water springs forth from Rozzick's mouth and Aria's firearms, and trickles from the beast's wounds. The fountain's basin contains a few small lily pads floating on its surface, as well as blooms of watercress just beneath the surface. Around the base of the fountain is a circle of intricately pattered paver stones with moss growing between the cracks, that lead off in paths in four directions from the fountain. At the edges of these paths, between the paths and the walls beyond, there is thick vegetation of varying types, making it look like a beautiful garden path down a corridor. Above, along both sides of the path, are angled windows looking down into the beautiful pathways. The main living spaces of the Demiplane can be seen within, reachable by the occasional staircase leading away from the main path. The "sky" above is a misty blue haze marking the upper reaches of the Demiplane, but it brightens and dims throughout the day as if a sun were actually rising and setting. It never gets pitch black or annoyingly bright though.

If one were to follow the path "east" or "west" from the fountain, they would eventually end up back where they started. Going "north" leads to a large open area filled with varying grains, flowers, and other grasses. Small fruit trees bloom at the edges of this small open field, providing oranges, pears, cherries, and avacado (among other fruits) to anyone interested. The area itself is intended for training, or for grazing if anyone happened to bring a large animal into Rozzick's plane. To one side, the area opens up into a large amphitheater-type stage that can also double as a dance floor. On the other side of the field there is also a large pond/pool with various water plants growing in and around it. The water takes up roughly 100 square feet and gets to a maximum depth of about 20 feet.

To the "south" of the fountain is an area fitted with several animal pens, animal cages, and a stabling area that would also suit such animals. The rustic beams and wooden walls sport flowering vines in sparse intervals, and air plants and pitcher plants thrive up in the rafters.

Below the fountain, accessible only through a secret tiny pipe hidden under the water of the fountain itself, is a small laboratory underneath a thick buffer of dirt and gravel. In the laboratory is where Rozzick keeps his clone, just in case the worst should happen. Every so often Rozzick shapeshifts into a snake or small fish, goes down the pipe, and casts an Extended Gentle Repose spell on the clone. The lab itself is not very extensive. Just a small blocky room made of stone brick, with glowing fungi growing in little recessed alcoves within the stone. The space is also fairly cluttered to make teleporting into the room difficult unless you are as small as an animal that could fit in through the access pipe.

Back up above, in one of the rooms overlooking the main fountain, there is a grand dining area. A long table that could easily sit a dozen guests extends along the glass windows. The table is carved from a single slab of redwood, and the chairs surrounding it sport carvings of various woodland creatures, both mundane and magical in nature. Along the center of the table are numerous small potted herbs and spice plants to provide fresh seasonings to guests. Opposite the overlook windows there is a wide fireplace big enough to roast an entire hog upon. Lush vegetation sprouts from the corners of the room, including ferns, orchids, vanilla, and even a small banana tree.

Adjacent to the grand dining area is a kitchen area. Roughly 20 ft by 20 feet, the room is lined with black countertops of polished marble. The storage areas above and below the counters are made of dark mahogany. In the center is an island usable for additional food preparation. Along the walls, tucked behind the countertops, are rows of various vegetables growing in planters, giving easy access to anyone preparing a snack. On the ceiling is a large skylight. On the far wall are two doors. One leads to a meat locker where beasts can be prepared and stored. The other door leads to a pantry where dry ingredients can be found. In the pantry is a second door that leads to a small dark space with walls of dirt. Rozzick calls this the mush-room, as a wide variety of edible mushrooms, toadstools, puffballs, and truffles can be found growing in there.

Connected to the dining room on the side opposite the kitchen is a nice longing area. Plush furniture rests among a plethora of potted and hanging plants. A windowed wall and ceiling let in plenty of light. The lounge connects to a smaller room meant for playing games, and bathroom, as well as to a conference-style room with all the amenities needed to make detailed strategic plans. Lastly, a short hallway leads away from the lounge to the guest quarters.

The guest quarters consist of four 10 foot by 20 foot rooms, each of varying degrees of privacy. One room sleeps one person, the second room sleeps two, the third sleeps four, and the last sleeps eight. Between the first two bedrooms and the second two bedrooms is a stairway that leads down into the bath area. There are two small pools meant for relaxing and cleaning, each surrounded by ferns, flowers, and small berry plants. There is also a guest bathroom adjacent to the bath pools entrances.

On the upper floor next to the guest rooms is a small infirmary filled with aloe plants and other curative herbs. As well as a 20 foot by 20 foot non-denominational shrine where people can perform prayers, if they feel so inclined.

Next to the shrine room is the entrance to Rozzick's personal library. It is a grand room that extends far back away from the main path, roughly 20 feet wide, 20 feet tall, and 80 feet deep. The long library had two levels of book shelves, half filled with books and half filled with potted plants. There are several reading nooks, decorative maps and star charts, and a special section specifically for scroll writing and storage. At the far end of the library are the doors leading to Rozzick's master bedroom.

Rozzick's room is about half the size of his library. Half the floor is covered in thick green moss and sports a four-poster bed, complete with draping deep blue curtains. Behind the large bed the walls show large aquariums of tropical fish and coral reefs. There is a small writing desk to one side of the room, a door to a private bathroom, and large walk-in closet where Rozzick keeps his clothes and armor. To the other side is a large open area with a zen garden full of raked grey sand. Bamboo grows tall in the corners of the zen garden, and there are planters containing various bonsai trees around its edge. In the center is a circular platform where Rozzick likes to sit to prepare his spells for the day. Behind the zen garden is a small tunnel that leads all the way to the main pathway of the Demiplane. The tunnel is conveniently just the right size for Dainty to travel through comfortably. And even includes a larger area within the tunnel for Dainty to have her own personal room, which consists of a patch of prairie grasses and a couple of large-leafed plants.

Back outside the grand library is another door. The door that leads to Sister Superior Aria's master bedroom. It opens into a private sitting area with a glass floor. Beneath the glass floor is a to-scale replica of Mirrordine lake, from the Valley of Birds. Three of the room's walls are green with golden trim, but the fourth has windows overlooking the main pathway of the Demiplane. Along the walls are various pots and hangers full of fragrant flowers. Including, but not limited to yulan magnolia blossoms, flying duck orchids, green birdflowers, white egret orchids, bird of paradise flowers, and parrot flowers. It was almost as if a silent flock of delicate birds was perched around the room.

At the far side of the sitting area were two sliding doors that opened into the main sleeping area of Aria's bedroom. Like Rozzick, Aria had a plush four-poster bed with drawable curtains, a soft purple in color. Her sleeping area had honeysuckle blooming tastefully in the corners, and her furniture consisted of a small desk with a comfy chair, a personal chest, and a weapon maintenance station. She also had a sizeable walk-in closet, like Rozzick, where she could store all of her clothing and armor, among other things.

Overlooking the opposite side of the main path are Rozzick's various crafting areas, among other things. He has dedicated rooms for smithing, glassblowing and glass crafts, stone-crafting, woodworking, ceramics, jewelry making, musical instruments crafting area, leatherworking, textiles and weaving, painting, papercrafts and bookbinding, and even an alchemy station. At the end of the crafting rooms is a storage space for items to sell. And next to the storage area is a 20 by 20 by 20 foot lead-lined treasure vault where Rozzick and Aria can store their accumulated valuables (should they ever feel the need).

Behind and below the crafting areas is a small dungeon area accessible by stairway. There are a couple of cells in this stone lead-lined room. Unlike the rest of the Demiplane, this area has sparse vegetation. There is slimy algae coating much of the walls and some small mushrooms growing in the cracks and corners, but that is about it. Beyond the little dungeon is another room with stone lead-lined walls, but it is much larger. This expansive space is meant for magical rituals. Usually nothing more complicated than calling a being with a Gate spell, but Rozzick may decide to branch out to other types of rituals in the future.
