The Dreamer

Things I would like:  Fun.  Opportunities to interact with other characters and form bonds with them (of varying degrees)  A growing thread in which to track the npcs we meet during these stories.  Fade to black romance, if it happens at all.

Things I do not want:  Player conflict driven by weak motivations.

Character Background
The Dreamer is a mysterious entity that harmlessly siphons dream energy from the city it currently inhabits.  During its long stay on Earth, the Dreamer has played the role of Angel, Ghost, and Alien.  It's appearance is that of an attractive, youthful woman.  It has adopted different names throughout the years... usually some variation of 'Sarah'.  Its been experiencing life, history, and when necessary... prods people towards less destructive ventures (or more enlightened ones).  Humanity will never know how many Madmen were 'influenced' away from disaster (although in the case of WW2, some slipped through).  The Dreamer can also claim credit for enabling a few trail blazing humans, but humanity is too vast for even it to perfectly steer.

The Dreamer has often been a wife (or muse) to powerful men and from this preferred role it has shaped society in small, meaningful ways.  As its understanding of human nature grew, the Dreamer was able to fake motherhood (resulting in some interesting family lines) and discard identities with ease.  It did necessitate a bit of traveling, but to the Dreamer this was merely the opportunity to sample different dreams and cultures.  While the Dreamer has explored parts of the globe, its preference on larger populations has curtailed 'dangerous adventures'.  To be stranded without dreamers would force it into hibernation.

With the rise of 80's superhumans, the Dreamer has hidden itself among them.  It can currently be found within the Walpurgisnacht Society, favoring the Court of Angels.  'Sarah' might be a little odd, but most things are explained away by her 'psychic powers'.  The Dreamer does not wish to become a target for scientists.

It has few regrets, but the Dreamer has never found partners or friends that it hasn't outlived.

Traits
1 Apparitional Form:  the Dreamer looks human but it’s actually something else… woven from dream-stuff in which to interact with the world.  This makes it immune to human frailties (disease, old age, reliance on oxygen/food/ bodily organs etc).  It takes harm from damage to its Dream-stuff and can be forced into dormancy... but 'killing' it would require extreme measures that few possess.
2 Glamorous:  while its attractive form is ‘set’, the Dreamer can manifest visual illusions such as wings, halos, armor, glowing light, translucency, etc… on itself or a small group of others.  It also helps in passing itself off as human.
3 Déjà vu: using the power of its dream-stuff, the Dreamer can enact nudges of mental influence upon creatures that are capable of dreaming.  Inspiring others, tapping into fears, soothing stress, stoking guilt, reading their dreams, etc.
4 Bad Dreams:  The Dreamer generally avoids battle, but when it chooses to fight… it can cause extreme mental pain with a gaze and infuse parts of it’s Dream-stuff (like hands) to cause super-heated injuries ('holy' damage).
5 Dreams Can Come True:  The Dreamer’s favor results in extra success on a specific venture or stated goal (promotion, recovery, fame, etc)… for another dream capable person.  As too many favors can be taxing to maintain, these boons are not lightly bestowed.
6 Accrued Wealth: through long time membership in the Walpurgisnacht Society, the Dreamer has gained financial clout... most often using it for others and ‘pet projects’.
