M'Lady

Things the player wants, needs, and triggers.  I like a mix of action scenes and interpersonal stuff.  Talk to me!  M'Lady can be a lot!  I want folks to be cool and work to make cool, funny, and slightly risky stories!  I also believe that consequences should arise from in-game actions in plausible ways.  For me, it can cool play very fast if there aren't any consequences from serious tomfoolery.

History

Clarick Laurent Anne de Breuil was born Clarissa Eliza Mendoza in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.  She came from a big Mexican-American family, a bit on the low-class side of things, but it was really very nice, except she was pretty queer, and they were really Catholic.  She liked some things normal girls liked (boys, dresses, dancing, music, kittens) and some things normal girls didn't like (sports, girls, building things, guns, knives.)  She was always a handful, knowing full well that most people would give her a break because of how she was and pushing that to the limit, like, all the time.

When she got all meta-y as a freshman in high school, it was all slightly disappointing in the sense that a lot of things she liked weren't really any fun anymore.  She was just too good for all of that.  Oh, she still got into lots of trouble - more than ever, really, because who could stop her? - but some of the joy was gone.  And this was around 1973!  Not a lot of metas back then.

Still, her grades were good, and she got into UC Berkeley as part of the ROTC.  I mean, she had good grades, but she was a bit of a hot mess, so she wasn't going to get a scholarship to a school that good.  But she was so outstanding physically that all the ROTC stuff was cake.  And her CO noticed and sent it up the line, and before too long, some guys from a joint special operations unit came on by to talk to her.  They had also noticed a certain... moral flexibility in her psych evals, and the offer was pretty awesome.  Come work as part of this black ops thing, run out of the Office of Naval Intelligence, really serve your country stuff, or they could just leave her to... what?  She didn't even let them finish before saying yes?  She entered ONI in 1980 at the age of 22 as a fresh-faced lieutenant as part of the JSOU.

A few years after that, the JSOU became STRIPE.  And for years and years, M'Lady has gone all around the world kicking puppies for Uncle Sam.  And she's so good at it.  She was really born for it.

And she changed her name, cut her ties with her family, and became Clarick Laurent Anne de Breuil, a name based on her favorite character from her favorite novel, just like her code name.  I mean, what was she going to say to them?  "Hey, mom, dad, I killed the President of Paraguay with a fork, how are you?"  It was just too weird, not to mention she kept not getting any older.  Like, was she going to be 25 forever?  There were worse fates.

However, after being in the field for a loooooong time, the brass at STRIPE decided to bring her back for mental health reasons.  Which M'Lady thinks is BS.  On the other hand, the food is pretty good, she gets to sleep in a bed, and they're all of those "supervillains" with cutesy names and gimmicks have no f'n idea what she's going to do them.

Her current rocket bike is a Grummond X1010 Experimental Infantry Mobility Platform.

Trait thingies:

1. Photographic reflexes.  Look, no reason to be coy.  She's like the Taskmaster, except not a loser weirdo.  She sees someone do something, she can do it, too, just like they can, and she spends a fair bit of her time making sure she can do a lot of really cool stuff.

2. Physically awesome.  She never gets tired or sick, ages either very slowly or not at all, heals really fast and without scars (not, like, Wolverine fast, but pretty fast,) has a greater ability to get hurt and survive, and is about three to five times faster and stronger than her size and athletic ability suggest... and she's got a lot of athletic ability, being a tall and athletic woman in the first place.

3. Loves it wild!  The crazier it gets, the better M'Lady does, and chaos seems to follow her around like an excitable dog that just crashes through everything because it's having so much fun.

4. Tech by DARPA.  In her previous life, she was a pretty good mechanical engineer, like, she has a Ph.D from USC (the California one) and did her post-grad work as JPL, and she still is a good engineer... so, the tech guys at DARPA like giving her their bleeding edge stuff for her to "stress test" it.  She's got the whole secret defense arsenal of the US of A at her beck and call, baby!  She's got the JPL on speed dial!  General Atomics has a parking spot for her at their HQ!  Everyone at Brookhaven knows her by her first name!

5. She's so dreamy.  I mean, look at her.  Just... look at her and the things she does!  She can charm the pants off a Puritan jailer and the wimple off a Carmelite nun if you know what I mean.

6. Crackerjack black ops specialist.  She's also spent the past thirty years involved in a whole lot of black ops BS all around the world, and she's really good at it.  I mean, sure, she probably has a serious case of PTSD because of all the puppies she's had to kick for the US government, but they were bad puppies.  Still, she's operationally top-notch.

7.  A tempest hurricane.  In pursuit of her objectives, M'Lady is willing to suffer just about any pain or privation imaginable and keep going.  She can steel her mind and resolve against, well, which gives her good active defenses against mental manipulation!  She'd pull herself on bloody stumps across broken glass that's on fire to spit in the Devil's eye.  When she doesn't have an objective, she can be a bit of a hot mess, on the other hand.

8.  True Love.  She deeply, truly loves August Lawson.  Their souls are bound to one another in such a manner that when she has great need, she can draw on August's supernatural abilities.
