He’s a f***ing demon.  Most mortal weapons have no effect upon him (though weapons of an advanced nature have the potential for harm.  He also has the requisite demon’s fire he can call upon when needed, and other basic demon powers.

“A creature of shadow and fire”:  Azog’s form isn’t conventionally physical, which allows him to do things other demons can’t, such as blend into the darkness, float above people, etc (also, no bones to screw with, but Selena has him on a leash anyway—see below).  One of his more devious powers is that he can merge himself with another’s shadow, and influence their thinking.  He’s used this power to create his network of information throughout Serenity, and he’s even “programmed” a few useful idiots here and there to die for him with but a word.

Limitation(s):  He’s a demon.  If something is blessed or holy, it will have an adverse affect on him.

Weakness:  If someone knows a demon’s true name, that person has power over them.  Selena knows Azog’s true name, and thus he’s forced to serve her as her spymaster.  He can’t even directly lie to her, but he doesn’t necessarily tell the whole truth to her either.

Weapons:  He keeps a number of Stygian steel weapons in his arsenal.  His preferred is a multi dagger, which is a single dagger that’s able to create as many copies of itself as the wielder desires—yes, he likes to throw pain-giving daggers until a target is full of them, he’s a sadistic jerk like that.

Appearance:  Azog is mostly a black apparition, limbed in red flame.  He looks like he’s wearing a black leather duster, with a black hood, with black pants and black boots.  The only exception is a horned kabuki mask in place of his face.

Personality:  Arrogant, verbose, and always polite…unless he’s angry.  He sees below his station as his lesser, and he has nothing but contempt for non-demons, which makes people like YT and especially the Bone Queen incredibly vexing.  He doesn’t handle defeat well, often vowing revenge on those who beat him.

Family:  None worth talking about.

History:  Typical story for a demon.  In life he was an evil person.  His soul was damned upon death, and instead of finding his way to redemption, he clung to his evil and slowly became the powerful demon he is today, ready to carve out his own dominion…until somehow the Bone Queen learned of his True Name and used it to summon him and bind him to her service.  Now he acts as her spymaster, using his alias as Marius Paulo to run the Paulo Group, an investment firm that gathers all sorts of information on the people of Serenity.  Information is power…which he is forced to share with Selena.

Love interest:  A demon as “evolved” as him has no need for love, but in his own way, he has a personal obsession:  Selena.  As much as he HATES her for the control she has over him, he has a twisted obsession for her; he wants to turn the tables on Selena and put her on his leash, humiliate her, and let her experience his humiliation and agony, until she begs him to end it.  Yeah…he’s a twisted fuck, but what did you expect for a demon?
