The nooks and crannies, the dark spots, the tunnels that are half in the sewers, half in the astral...

Avatar: A being Greutz communes with which is a Senior entity in a grimoire that was given to him as a baby called Liber Ululatus, or the Book of Howling. He knows it only as "The Black Wyvern."

Paradigm: The snail god of the moon, Klaatuu, grants great gifts to thieves who serve the righteous Hidden Ones. Greutz serves the greater good of Rhysgandy, and his acquisition of magical power, through receiving Ululatus at his birth and discovering the Glaive of Od, to him is proof of his favor with the moon.

Foci: Liber Ululatus, the Howling Grimoire. It requires that Greutz carry a small consecrated oil lamp for him to be able to operate rituals from the book.
He also carries an ancient weapon called the Glaive of Od, a Master Thief who lived in Rhysgandy over one thousand years ago. Greutz also must work magic using his consumption of the stew from a very rare and sought-after breed of poppy called Sabiba-of-the-Moon.
