Description: Gerard is a somewhat muscular man, about six feet tall with short black hair, green eyes, and a clean shaven face. Despite his substantial prison sentence, he comes across more like an educated elite than a rough-and-tumble thug, with clean hands and a surprising lack of scars. His one concession to prison culture is a tattoo of playing cards on his chest: two black aces, two black eights, and a Jack of Spades- the infamous Dead Man's Hand.
Personality: Gerard is an unusually sophisticated man for a robber. He affects the persona of an educated elite, someone who's too good for the position he's in. He's confident, bright, and somewhat devious, and he was marked as a troublemaker in the previous prison where he stayed because of his tendency to dupe both other inmates and guards. He loves poker, which he sees as a thinking man's game, and he's made a bit of money playing against people who didn't know he could count cards.
Background: Gerard Hunter is (or was) a professional safe-cracker, a member of a crew that made good money robbing banks, armored cars, and the private collections of wealthy assholes. Although college educated, he fell in with a bad crowd soon after graduation due to his love of gambling, and eventually he started cracking safes to pay his debts. He had a good hot streak, but he and his gang were caught when one of his crew turned on the others as part of a deal with prosecution. Ever the gambler, Gerard was eager to get a chance to go to a co-ed prison, and entered the lottery without thinking about it. He was pleasantly surprised he won, and is looking to make the most of his new situation.
