Olympia Martinus

Character name: Olympia Martinus
Age: 19
Race: Human
Class: Champion
Archetype: TBD

Description:  A former opera singer and aspiring diva, Olympia was described in her one and only role of any prominence as “having a face a man might die for” and being “the daintiest thing under a bonnet on this planet.” That was then. For reasons owing more to politics than talent, she was a washed up opera star while still a teen. Now, it might be more accurate to say she has "looks that kill" as her innocence and fragile beauty have been replaced by a menacing and dangerous power. Having failed as a diva, she settled in as a devotee of Iomedae, champion and redeemer. She pursues the ideal of physical perfection through training. Her body is now hard and powerful, though still devastatingly alluring to those who like the type of a dominant, strong woman.

Background: Olympia was born in Nidal, a beautiful, strong young girl with her father's mind and her mothers looks. Not to mention her temper. None of those talents would do her well in the shadowy hellscape of Nidal. Fortunately, she was also blessed with a beautiful voice and talent for dance and acting. Recruited by the Kintargo opera at a young age, her parent's sent her for a better life in Cheliax where she was groomed as a future star. It was a hard life for a child, training from dawn to dusk, breaking down her body and mind, her life totally devoted to her art. She nearly quit a dozen times, the pressure too much. But she pushed through, her stubbornness and ambition driving her. She attracted the attention of a prominent diva and was well on her way to becoming the protege and rising star.

But politics are a dangerous game in Cheliax. Olympia's patron was implicated in accusations of sedition and conspiracy against House Thrune. Chelaxian justice is swift and cruel and she was suddenly just ... gone. Olympia was not implicated in any of this, but the guilt of association stuck to her and she found her career as an opera star over before her sixteenth birthday.

Some would have run home, licking their wounds, but Olympia knew she couldn't return to her homeland. She chose a different path. Spurned by the Chelaxian establishment, she rebelled and rushed into the arms of the Inheritor, Iomedae. She petitioned to be admitted for training as a paladin devoted to Iomedae.

It became immediately apparent that this was not the role for her. Apparent to everyone except Olympia! The lawful, ordered constraints of serving Iomedae were hard for her to meet, but she was stubborn and determined to prove herself. And certainly her opera training left her no stranger to hard work. She trained harder than any of the aspirants, pushing her body physically to extreme lengths and forced an extreme discipline on herself. But while she built herself into a powerful warrior woman, when it came to order, justice and enforcement, she was perhaps a little lacking. Kind hearted to a fault (for the strict Iomedaeans), she spent more time with the alchemists at the outpost than at temple and well, when she was eventually removed from the order after being caught in a compromising position with the commander's wife, rumor had it, her discharge cited her as a 'corrupting influence' over the other aspirants.

But a failed paladin sometimes leads to being a successful redeemer. Olympia left the outpost where she was training, but kept her faith in Iomedae, just with a little more freedom than most. She's settled in at Breechill looking to support herself, a knight errant.
