Mordecai was visiting New York from L.A. as a Vendor at FLAME CON when he was killed in the fire. His parents visited on and off during the months he spent in the hospital in recovery, but his sister Kiki, moved to new york to help him with his physical therapy and recover. They grew closer during this time, but Kiki wanted to return out west while Mordecai was resolved to make a new life in New york. Right now, he's got a tiny apartment, and is barely making ends meet. Fortunately, he reconnected with an old friend from L.A, Sandy, which made the transition just a little easier.
