BIOGRAPHY
Kato Solomon Modesto grew up on Aragon, a Hazat planet, living in a decent sized suburb of a city with late 1800s technology.
One day, Oscar Mueler comes to town throwing money around, claiming to be a big shot nephew of someone really important. The local noble never really bothered us so this was Kato’s first look at nobility. He treated Kato well and always bought him chocolate.
After sometime, Oscar asked Kato to keep his eyes and ears out as some people were wanting to do him harm. When Kato mentioned this to his parents, they forbid him from seeing Oscar.
Some time later, Oscar’s friend, Edmundo Thornclair started showing up with him. They weren’t so nice together. Kato’s dad stood up to Oscar and Edmundo and actually held his own. His dad really made them look like a fool.
Later that night, Kato heard a commotion in the living room well after bedtime. And heard the shots. Looking out his window, he saw Oscar running off and found his parents dead. Kato was the only witness. Most of the townsfolk knew it was him but had no proof. Oscar continued to have his friends running around town, collecting protection money from everyone, asking them, “Would you want to see your children become orphans like Kato?”
The local noble to his credit continued to not get involved with local issues. Kato himself swore to one day get revenge.
Kato spent a few years on the streets in the city before, in desperation, he finally decided to enlist with Brother Battle. Knowing that he was a year or two too old, he lied about his age and name to get in. He figured he could get a living, as well as some training that would help him get revenge. He never bought into the faith, it was just a tool to him. But he as able to put on a convincing charade.
After training, his squad was assign a mission that took him back to Aragon. He never asked for it nor was there any reason for him to return. This time Oscar’s business was actually very large now, attracting the attention of scravers and all sorts of other people. The locals had asked the church for help and seeing as Oscar how had a small army, the church sent in Brother Battle with orders to bring him in alive.
Kato was there when Oscar was captured, and he baited Kato with his parents. Full of years of rage, Kato ended him, only to find out that he was someone’s nephew, a big wig Decado. Oscar had been kicked out of his own house. Kato had killed a noble.
The church never revealed his name to the Nobles, but Kato was banished from the church. He knows that his name was struck from the mission report. It was the last thing that the Brothers could do for him. Most that were there thought that the noble got what he deserved. When he was banished, many of his former brethren wished him well. Some even claimed that he was sacrificed due to a noble throwing a fit.
