Andrew grew up amongst the clans of the exiled Northwind Highlanders, moving from planet to planet without ever seeing their homeworld.  When he was old enough to walk he began his training within the family, first martial arts, then small arms and finally graduating to his grandfathers Phoenix Hawk which he inherited after his death at the battle of New Aragon in 3008.

He volunteered for MacLeod's regiment and took a spot in a recon company.  After a couple of years he transferred to the 2nd Kearny Highlanders when a slot became available.  He served along the St Ives frontier and it was here that things started to go wrong.  His company commander Captain John Campbell and Andrew had a falling out though the details aren't well known.  Andrew resigned from the Highlanders taking his mech with him and began to look for another contract.  He had just enough to make it to Galatea and look for a new contract.

Description:  Andrew wears his hair short, a well trimmed beard and well looked after clothes. He is slightly over 6 foot tall and obviously fit maintaining a regular exercise regime of running, martial arts and weights.

When in uniform he wears a green Capellan style jacket over his MacLeod Hunting kilt, a glengarry cap perched jauntily on his head.  In less formal circumstances he would wear a leather jacket over a pair of trusty blue jeans.

In his down time Andrew can be found listening to music, or tinkering away with an engine if possible.  He enjoys a wee dram of whiskey or a beer or three in the right ccompany but will always have a coffee or a Choka cola close by (He's not much of a morning person).
