KNOWN POWERS -
The Octodroid is a giant-sized replica of its original creator Dr. Octopus, encased in an energy dampening super strong vibranium alloy. Its telescopiing tentacled arms are capable of extending out to 300 feet, and the original wave disruption cannons mounted in each tentacle have been replaced with far more dangerous weapons acquired by Glitch-8603 via time travel.
HISTORY -
On the alternate world of Earth-6850, a version of Dr. Otto Octavius created a giant robot copy of himself in a scheme to destroy New York City, and then Washington DC, if the US Government did not surrender and name Dr. Octavius to be President of the United States. Tracing the construction of the Octodroid through a plot of stolen Stark Industries technology and Wakandan Vibranium, an ad hoc team of Spider-Man, Captain America and Captain Marvel of the Avengers, and the Thing of the Fantastic Four, eventually fought the giant killer robot, which was finally disabled by mighty hammer blows from the Asgardian Thor after it had caused significant damage to New York City.
The robot was taken to a SHIELD research facility for study when the Multiversal time criminal known as Glitch of Earth-8603 arrived on Earth-6850 and used his powers to take control of and reprogram the robot and escape with it across time and space, travelling between realities and significantly upgrading its original suite of weapons.
PERSONALITY -
The original programming of the Octodroid was not sentient and was hard-wired to obey the simple commands of Dr. Octopus of Earth-6850. The giant killer robot has been upgraded with an evolving artificial intelligence by the time criminal Glitch of Earth-8603 but often through convoluted applications of logic seeks to fulfill its original design and purpose to destroy everything in it path. For example, while it was hiding out from the Time Variance Authority with Glitch-8603 on a variant of Earth-811, a world where Sentinel robots had taken over the Earth by hunting and exterminating all superhumans, Glitch ordered the robot to "protect him," and the robot concluded that Glitch would be best protected against threats by slaughtering all of mankind and sought to release biological and nuclear weapons before Glitch was able to shut the robot down. The Octodroid, when left to its own devices, is a hammer in a world that it nearly always concludes is a nail. Despite its tendencies to go haywire, the mutant time criminal Glitch's mind has been interfaced with the robot so many times that the two share a odd sense of loyalty and friendship, even if Glitch has somehow never found a way to make the Octodroid less likely to resort to violence and mass destruction.
