Banastre Latham is generally regarded as a "Constables Constable". Having earned his stripes on the streets of Flint with the rank and file officers of the cities local watchmen, he was eventually selected to attend the Peal Academy before graduating and joining the ranks of the RHC.

Gruff and implacable, Banastre or "Ban" as he is commonly called by his peers is a man not prone to discuss his personal affairs, but he is thought to be divorced, and he now spends entirely too much time hanging around Headquarters.

While his superiors initially appreciated his zeal, some have begun to encourage him to pursue relationships or hobbies away from work, and the bags forming under his eyes hint at the beginnings of mental or perhaps even spiritual exhaustion.

Possessed of a dry and somewhat dark humor, it can be difficult for some of the newer Constables to tell if the man is joking or not.
