Known as the school's shining star of an athlete, and dominant in the game of soccer. She's won State Championships for the school, single-handedly, and she was on the fast track to join the USWNT as a Striker.

Soccer is all she's known. Her father used to play in the EPL for Manchester United, and (without any sons) he invested everything of his soccer identity into his daughter, Karsen.

Then, last summer, she blew out her knee during the Summer travel league. Her knee was so badly compromised, the Doctors thought they'd have to amputate. It became clear that she would never play soccer again.

Her relationship with the USWNT went away. She lost her athletics scholarship to college. Even her relationship with her Father changed overnight... from overbearing and ever-present to completely non-existent, with her Father investing his time into one of Karsen's younger siblings.

Now, Karsen is lost. Adrift. Before, she knew where she was headed, into the bright future of stardom for the United States soccer program. Now? She has nothing.
