Runika Servus

The Basics

Name: Runika Servus

Gender: Female

Age: 28

Race: Human

The Physical

Physical Description: Her hair is kept in a short brown, bob cut over a set of blue eyes. She wears a set of glasses with lenses, tinged amethyst and horn rimmed. Her skin is tanned and well kept, clearly hygiene is very important to her. Her outfit changes enough to throw off pursuit, but there are a few other items that she can be seen with. A leather bracer with a watch fitted into it. A small opal lies fitted into the item as part of her focus.

Alternate Form: She doesn't have a true 'alternate form' but she has two beast form spells that she mastered, just in case she found herself in an area completely in the wrong time period. A larger Doberman dog and a lithe black cat. They are spells and therefore require her concentration and energy.

Talents & Weaknesses

Skills: With her experiments and travels, she is quite a historian. Having witnessed many events in such a way as to not influence them, she has a wealth of knowledge an know how. As her magic skills were developed like a surgeon's skill with a scalpel, everything she does know is invariably linked in some manner to her connection to time.

Powers: Runika is a Wizard in terms of her primary magics. Her powers are more focused on Thaumaturgy and subtle manipulations of elements. Her evocation skills leave much to be desired in terms of offense, focusing more on her defensive abilities. She learned to weave her magics into her various items and trinkets.
Runika is very well tuned into the magics of time as a fundamental force of reality, seeing it as a chink in every mages armor. Something she intends to correct. Her defenses, spells and even enchanted items all seem to flow from this central driving force.

Vulnerabilities: She's very human. Aside from her enchanted items, many of which are to protect her from causing other problems to the timeline or realities, she has no special defense. Of course, she still  has problems with technology, just like every other wizard. Her big spells also seem to cause a greater disturbance in technology, especially those with wireless capabilities.

Under The Hood

Personality: She would probably describe herself as practical, as keeping the most neutral of expressions has served her well as a defense against unwanted attention. If she looks and acts unremarkable, she is unremarkable. However, this has had a negative impact on her psyche in the form of her feeling distant from everyone. Now with the threat of death over her every step, she could even be considered to be... paranoid.

Backstory: Runika was a simple apprentice to a Wizard in the White Council. By any standard, she was a very solid apprentice and would no doubt have gone on to a very normal life as a very solid wizard. However, there was a nagging question at the back of her mind. Time. It was such an obvious weak point to her. Divination was not forbidden, but you could only do so much by preparing for an eventuality. What if the enemy, whoever they were, did not operate in this matter? What if there was no warning? What if someone were desperate enough to try to unravel reality by this fundamental force? Perhaps they might have pure intentions, such as wanting to undo a travesty or a disaster done to the world, but would that not create distortions even greater than before?

She never would have thought she of all people would even give credence to this line of thinking, especially right as she had just finished her studies. She would no doubt have become a wonderful wizard in her life were it not for this fundamental question. Perhaps that is how many Warlocks start down that path. Wanting to 'fix' a problem in the world. A problem with reality or, as in her case, to research forbidden magics in order to defend against them.

She made her first time walk in New York city, taking on the form of an alley cat in the rooftops to avoid being seen. It was so simple, and to avoid meeting herself, she planned her route carefully. Doing this in such a way as to not cause any destructive means meant extensive planning and calculations. She would either unravel herself, or simply slide backwards in time long enough so as to see it work. That first step... was an exhilarating rush of danger, adrenaline and... yes... there was a temptation of power.

Since then, she has been far more careful while taking larger and larger risks. She is all but unrecognizable to her old self having become a figure who wears bland looking clothes, ritually cleans and sterilizes herself over and over again to throw off any possible pursuit. And now, she's back home with her research. Back in New York City having just starting to learn about Chicago. How does one try to go and present information on temporal defenses in the midst of the aftermath of a crisis?

Connections: White Council: Wanted Warlock or Presumed dead multiple times.
