Mackie 'Roadkill' McVey

Name: Maxwell McVey, aka Mackie, aka Roadkill
Age: 31
Occupation: President of Fastwaters Riders Motorcycle Club, a completely legitimate enterprise

Personality: Mackie is a focused, intense man with enough introspection to understand the evil that he does but he feels such a responsibility to the MC that he has been drawn into the web of lies, treachery, and violence of the lifestyle.  And the truth is that he feels a tremendous thrill when breaking the law, or betraying someone, or killing them - made the more thrilling because he does understand the moral harm he does to himself and others.  And while he can honestly say he has never killed a person who did not deserve it, he knows that his actions have had consequences that have caused great harm to innocent people.  However, in the moment, all moral reservations vanish into a blinding clarity of purpose and action that allows him to take extraordinary risks without hesitation.  Under a charming veneer of bad boy charisma and a love of children and dogs lies an extremely ruthless and ambitious man who feels that whatever pain befalls him is deserved and must be endured.

Interests/Hobbies:  Boxing, wrestling, MMA, knives, guns, motorcycles, literature, girls, organized crime, freedom.

Appearance: A tall, muscular man, he has broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and rippling muscles under a well-bronzed skin.  He is blue-eyed, blond-haired, with an air hardness tinged with sadness at the world that has made him so hard.  He dresses like the biker he is, leather jackets and denim vests when it's warmer out, with t-shirts or flannel depending on the weather, and blue jeans that look like they were painted on, and almost invariably riding boots except when he's working out.

History:  Born to Matthew and Helen McVey, he was born into biker royalty with his old man being a long-time president of the MC.  He was always around bikes and bikers.  He took after his father in many things, a raw intelligence and sensitive nature bonded to drive and ruthlessness... but also hounded by behavioral issues (primarily ADHD, which was undiagnosed and thus untreated, but made concentrating in school's more academic subjects difficult.)  Still, he was always the cool kid in school because, well, how many other kids got dropped off by a badass dude on a Harley?  And when other kids were going to the Boy Scouts, he was learning to box and wrestle with the other little biker kids, playing with knives, shooting guns...

In his teens, the behavior problems got bigger and the only thing that kept in him high school was he was a wrestling champion.  ASU and OSU wanted them for their wrestling teams but a few weeks after his eighteenth birthday he was arrested for aggravated assault outside a bar and while the charge was dropped to misdemeanor assault, interest in him as a scholarship athlete vanished.  It was his first but hardly his last brush with the law.  Still, he decided it was best if he joined the Marine Corps, where he stayed for the next six years.

There, he continued to have behavioral issues - mostly fighting - but since he was extremely brave, well, the Marines can put up with a lot if a guy is loyal and brave.  Mackie was both.  It didn't hurt that he repped his battalion in boxing and wrestling.  And maybe he would have made a career-level go of the Marine Corps, but he got shot in the Sandbox and since he had a bullet fragment lodged in his spine, he was discharged.  He thought it was bullshit because he doesn't even feel the fragment except when the weather turns, but the brass decided it was too great a risk to take.  (Though it is unlikely to come up in the game, there is a small chance that he will be temporarily or even completely paralyzed by the fragment shifting into his spinal cord.)

So, he returned, and what jobs were there to do?  Other than being a marine, the only thing he knew was fixing motorcycles, and of course he joined the club.  He was more or less on the rails for leadership, then his father died in a high-speed accident while being chased by another gang.  Until then, Mackie hadn't done anything too bad - just low-level mule activities.  But the death of his father inspired him, and he was part of the team that got revenge for Matthew's dead.  It's also where he got his nickname, because when Mackie got his hands on the guy who was chasing his dad when he died, Mackie tied the guy behind his motorcycle and pulled the guy behind him along a dirt road until he was roadkill.  And after you've done a bit of premeditated murder, well, that seals the deal?  The MC knew he was the kind of guy who could be relied upon to do the right thing, even it was a terrible thing.  In fact, Mackie became famous in the outlaw biker community for being willing to go that extra mile, to really push the envelop with retribution.

Recently, he was voted in as president of the MC and the club is expecting great things from him.
