Borlan's background is one of a bit of mystery, but he is proud of his stepfather.   Born to the north in a cold area, he was found by a lumberjack out in the frigid forest.  He had saved money working for years and took his newfound son south to raise.  That is the story he was told at least.

At a young age, he showed signs of magic, able to shoot small rays of frost from his hands.  His father, having moved them south to the town edge of Stonewatch wanted the best for his son.   He watched over the boy as he matured and kept him busy with chores.   As he got on in his teenage years, the father realized that his son would need further guidance and paid for him to be apprenticed to a wizard academy.

Borlan is returned now after completing many years of study.  He has always been smaller than average of stature with fair skin and white hair.  Now though, he is a young man returned to his childhood home.  His father had married in his absence, and Borlan thanked him for all he had done for him.  Now was the time for him to move on and start his own life.   A part of him has always wondered where he really came from, but for now he had to forge ahead and start his life.
