Rex of the Rivers is a muscularly compact kid, with black, short, somewhat unkempt hair, mischievous eyes, and often a strangely predatory grin. He favors black or dark blue shirt and pants, although in a pinch he'll settle for whatever is available. He is rarely without his supplies on his person, having become accustomed to the idea that possessions are whatever you can defend.

Rex has two faces that he wears at any given moment. The first face is brash, loud, cocky, oily, and obnoxious, the attitude of someone who absolutely knows they don't need most of the things others need. The other face, however, is the one he wears when he thinks things are serious. He goes dead quiet, and all of his movements are suddenly controlled and precise. When he's like this, all he cares about is getting the pack to safety, or through the fire of the moment.
