While Calene is attractive, "beautiful" is not the word most would use to describe her. Sure, she's got ample but well-proportioned curves and smooth, fair skin that makes one wonder if it can possibly be as soft as it looks. There is a pleasing symmetry to her form and the features of her face. She is of average height for an elf. Her preferred attire is practical, allowing for freedom of movement, and perhaps a touch worn from travel but always clean and free from tears or stains. (She does have a few other outfits designed for different setings.) Normally she doesn't wear a lot of accessories, those are reserved to accompany the costumes she dons for her performances.

"Cute" would be a better descriptor for her small pert nose, the delicately pointed ears that are normally hidden behind silky dark hair, and the round rosy cheeks. Her lips may be a touch thin but are still pleasingly shaped. She has learned how to animate her features and imbue her expression with all kinds of meaning. Her warm smile, accompanied by a sparkle in wide green eyes, seems genuine.

Her voice is her best feature, particularly when singing. Watching her perform is just about as close anyone gets to knowing the real Calene or who she might have been. It is clear when she is performing that she loves her craft and takes great care and pride in it, no matter what other persona she has chosen to adopt. Her natural gait is purposeful and full of confidence, though she can change it up as needed to something more sedate and regal or positively sprightly.

There are things that are consistent. The first is her curiosity, particularly about the communities she performs in. This allows her to better tailor her sets and avoid mishaps related to local customs and mores. The second thing is her politeness, particularly towards servants and other forms of help. She will not hesitate to speak up about mistreatment and will also praise them to their bosses. It is similar with animals, she will speak up regarding any concerns she observes and is kind to them.

The third is her passion for her craft. She knows she is talented but isn't arrogant about it, and is constantly practicing or otherwise working to learn and improve. When you watch her perform it is clear she loves what she does. This does not extend to sharing the stage but she doesn't mind talking with other artists or spending time to help them grow.

Otherwise she is a chameleon. Depending on what suits the environment the best, she can be very demure or give as good as she gets and curse like a sailor. She seems to enjoy traveling from place to place as it gives her the best opportunity to learn new kinds of music and techniques and get fresh inspiration. At least that is what she claims. The truth of the real Calene is complicated like the melodies that flow so deftly from her fingers or lips.
