Luthien led a normal life most of his life. He played his video games, his sports, did his homework and so on.

Then he was informed of his destiny, to take up the mighty sword Ragnarok and save the world. A Norse weapon named after their version of the Apocalypse, it is prophesied to be involved in many potential apocalyptic encounters. Ironically, the weapon is named so because if it fails, the end will come.

Luthien then had to prove himself worthy of such a blade. Given some armor that is unobtrusive in the modern world, he was told to go forth and slay monsters. The sword did most of the work, slicing things in two with ease. Even so, he found himself training more and more until the time came for the first of the ends the sword was forged to prevent came.
