Austin has taken well to frontier life, shedding much of the style and sensibilities of his own London upbringing and the settlements on the Eastern coast. He usually greets strangers with a smile and a hand shake, his accent throwing many off as it seems to have become a weird mix of accents. All of this is offset by the rather gruesome scar going from left eye down pass lip to chin like the Colorado river.
Despite his rugged look, he has long nimble fingers and gentle hands browned by the sun but bely the skill these hands can perform.

Austin lives in a humble structure just on the edge of town that is slowly getting repaired or replaced as he can afford and help arrives. When asked why he lives so far, he offers it because he can do better work with out hassling the citizens and give those animals in his care some peace of mind. HE has yet to turn away a patient, two- or four-legged.
